Broadcast Your Goals
BusinessDictionary.com defines accountability as “the obligation of an individual or organization to account for its activities, accept responsibility for them, and to disclose the results in a transparent manner.” This definition uses the term obligation, as if accountability is a burden. But embracing accountability can be empowering and positive.
A great way to increase your personal and team accountability is to broadcast your goals to others. Broadcasting those goals can serve as a great reminder of why they are important. Broadcasting your goals can also be a great way to enlist additional inspiration. Proclaiming your goals on social media, for example, might solicit likes and comments from others and that encouragement can be energizing. You might even enlist some surprising help from your circle. Plus, you are more likely to deliver your very best effort, knowing others are now watching.
How do you share your important goals with others? How do you broadcast your team’s important goals within the team and more broadly within your company?
